Volkswagen ID.7: Managing Users

Introduction

Volkswagen user accounts for different vehicle users can be created via User administration. This enables you to save individual vehicle settings, such as the air conditioner, to one Volkswagen user account.

The following user roles for Volkswagen user accounts are available:

Primary user

  • The "primary user" role is intended for the registered keeper or for a user of the vehicle who is not merely a temporary user, e.g. lessee or company car driver. Only the primary user is authorized to order and activate services for a particular vehicle.
  • There is only one primary user for each vehicle. When a new primary user is confirmed, the previous primary user automatically loses their user role. The previous primary user is informed of this.

Guest users

  • The "Guest user" user role is intended for all other users in the vehicle who do not have the "Primary user" user role, but wish to save vehicle settings to a personal user profile. Guest users can use mobile online services in the vehicle just like the primary user. Guest users have limited ability to use mobile online services in the App.

Anonymous guest

  • The "anonymous guest" user role is not assigned to one person. The account is local to the vehicle and cannot be synchronized with the server. The "anonymous guest" user role is intended for anonymous users. These are users who have access to the vehicle but do not log in. There is only one account in vehicles with online personalization and it cannot be deleted. If the "anonymous guest" user role is activated, all vehicle users who are logged in are temporarily logged out.

Managing Users

After successful registration and verification, you can assign permissions to the users of the vehicle.

In addition to the primary user, guest user and anonymous guest user roles are available. There are no management options for anonymous guest users. As the primary user, you can view and remove guest users in the myVolkswagen customer area via the guest user app.

Removing Guest Users via myVolkswagen

  1. Open the area Vehicle user Manage users.
  2. In the Guest user area, click Delete next to the user in question.

Removing Guest Users via the App

  1. Open the area Vehicle user Manage users.
  2. To remove a user, in the Guest user area, tap next to the user to be removed.

Deleting a primary user

If you sell your vehicle or transfer the services to a different user, you should reset the Infotainment system to the factory settings. This deletes the primary user and all service-specific data stored in the vehicle.

As part of the factory reset, a pop-up window appears in the Infotainment system asking whether you really do wish to reset the primary user. If you do execute this function, the link between the primary user and the services of the vehicle concerned will be deleted. Resetting the Infotainment system to the factory settings irrevocably deletes the entries, settings and stored data, depending on the selected options.

Changing and Deleting User Data

You can change or delete your user data or login details. Any changes to your login details will also apply to all other Volkswagen systems that use Volkswagen ID at the same time.

  1. In the myVolkswagen customer area, open Settings and open one of the following areas:
  • Volkswagen ID.
  • Privacy settings and consent.
